In Australia the government's Climate Ready Program states that it is "open to funding geo-engineering projects that use genetic engineering or nanotechnology" and advertises grants from 50,000 to 5 million dollars for research and development.
Cloud Seeding experiments have already taken place all over Australia (without promotion to the public) and is now a permanent fixture of the snowy mountains. Cloud seeding uses dangerous chemicals including liquid nitrogen, and salt which will settle in the soil and create dangerous problems for agriculture.
I do not approve of public funding being assigned to such dangerous and high risk geo-engineering schemes. Any experiments done in this field have the potential to drastically alter every ecosystem on this planet and any experiment done is an experiment on every living thing done without their consent!
This experimentation needs to be exposed to the public and stopped. In USA water and soil tests reveal dangerously high levels of aluminium in the soil, snow and water. Tests on human hair reveal the same. Such tests need to be undertaken here to determine the extent of the damage and efforts directed to re-mediating it before it it is too late. A Ban on all geo-engineering needs to become law and funds redirected into more sustainable living options eg: electrifying/solar trains and trams, further incentives for adding solar to your home/business, incentives for switching to a hybrid and increasing the amount of trees planted instead of removing them.

Climate change sceptics are strong in English speaking countries including Australia. Given that the climate change sceptics say that anthropogenic climate change is a hoax, ask them to do more to show their opposition to geoengineering programmes that are supposedly for the purpose of "mitigating" anthropogenic climate change.
ReplyDeletehi wayne, and another thing, they are manipulating the weather, floods........ we all pay higher insurance premiums.........when in fact it could be a case of "they" who are doing the weather modification and maybe causing such events should be paying compensation, not all of us paying. Its all so unfair, no-one asks us if we want weather modification, no-one asked if we minded them testing nuclear weapons, then we drink the milk at school contaminated with strontium 90, no-one asked if we minded them taking 20 odd thousand bodies from our hospitals to incinerate them and check the bones for strontium 90, and the worst thing of all, OUR HARD EARNED TAXES PAY FOR THESE PEOPLE TO MAKE THESE DECISIONS WITHOUT CONSULTING US AND THEN NOT BEING HELD ACCOUNTABLE WHEN IT ALL F@CKS UP.
